Off the Beaten Track - Sensory Overload! Fort Lauderdale or anywhere in Broward

Hi all,

I live in Miami and adore places like Hy Vong, Magnum, 190, Tap Tap,....I am looking for something akin to that in Broward. Hy Vong, for example, is a fantastic Vietnamese place located in a pretty dank strip mall. I think the food (especially the squid salad) is overwhelming.

At Magnum- where there is no outside signage- the owner affectionately greets you at the door and delivers you to a table with amazing beignets, rolls and sticks. At the end of the night, he brings you a comped glass of port. The atmosphere is fab- very dark room with a chanteause at a piano.

190 is a boho joint- mismatched wooden tables, great steak and polenta.

I am looking for superb food- above all else. A little quirkiness thrown in to the pot would be welcome!
