bbq chicken in a paper bag

Was reading in Southern Living about a recipe for chicken. Seems these folks put some bbq rub on a half a bird, put it in a paper sack, staple it shut. Then put in on an indirect heat pit at 225 for 2.5 hours.
Anyone tried this?
