This summer I need to select a BBQ caterer for an event on a big farm in Frederick, MD that will have about 100 people attending. I am looking for great food coupled with great service. Ribs, pulled pork and maybe chicken (not really 'que, I know) with traditional sides and desserts should be the order of the day. I would prefer NC and southern BBQ to Texas but want to consider all options. I am considering the following companies and would like to know if any fellow 'hounds have had direct experience with catering from them:
O'Brien's Pit BBQ - I have eaten there and liked it (Texas style) but do not have experience with their catering.
Urban BBQ - have heard good reviews on this board and will be eating there this weekend. Any experience with the catering side? As a Marylander, their mini-crabcakes are an enticing option as a passed side.
I would appreciate any reviews (good or bad) for any of the above companies. If you have had a great experience with a caterer that is not on my list please let me know. With respect to everyone's opinion on what is and isn't good, please do not list Rocklands or Red, Hot & Blue as options.
