After a 12 mile trek through the wonders of The Forest of Nisene Marks State Park, the temptations of slow cooked ribs and chicken were too much to resist. Cole's BBQ resides in a suitably low slung fire-engine red building on Patos Avenue.

An extensive menu including burgers and dogs greets the customer at the ordering counter. I opted for a porkribs, beef ribs and chicken combo while Nicole had a hot dog with cheese. Vast quatities of food shortly came forth along with giant plastic containers of BBQ sauce and ketchup. A mound of well done skin on fries filled the platter to dizzying heights. The chicken was excellent--tender, juicy, smoky. The ribs were average--chewy but not fall off the bone tender--good but not entirely satisfying. The hot dog was--well a hot dog.

All in all, it hit the spot-- a good place for the very hungry and not too discrimanting.
