Had to get bbq

Joanie | May 22, 2003 07:57 AM

after all the talk here, and someone blowing me off for burgers last nite. I had almost decided to eat my leftover Rod Dee 2 spicy noodles (pad kee something w/ tofu and veggies, very good and good spiciness) but BBQ Town menus in my lobby seemed like an omen. This place is on Washington St. in Roslindale and I've been there a couple times. Some expert will have to try it, I can't tell you specifics about the style of bbq. And they may try to do too many things cuz the menu has everything from fried and broiled seafood to deli sandwiches to pizza. In any case, I got pork ribs w/ onion rings and cole slaw for $8.49. The ribs were a tad fatty but tasted good, I didn't really need the spicy bbq sauce I got on the side. The rings were good considering the short ride home and chance to decrisp in the steam of the container. Corn bread fair and cole slaw was pretty basic but not too much mayonnaise. I should have gotten the combo w/ chicken wings ($7.99) or tried a pulled pork sandwich, my bbq standard. They've got a bunch of choices for sides including fried plaintains. If someone tries it, report back.
