I was looking around the 99 Only store in Culver City, Saturday and picked up 2 bottles of 1998 Baywood Cellars (baywood-cellars.com) Tempranillo. I immediately went home and opened a bottle to taste. It was amazing, really amazing. I went back immediately and bought 11 more bottles. I would have bought more but the guy ahead of me bought the remaining 6 bottles. When I got back home I went to the web site and found that they are still in business. Sure enough you can buy the wine for $25.00 a bottle on the web, and it is well worth it at that price. First observation is that I need to keep a corkscrew in the car. Second observation is that I need to keep an eye on the wine section there more often. Does anyone know why they would have to sell out so cheap? I know there is a wine glut but the label must cost more than I paid for the bottle. It doesn't appear that they have any intention of going out of business.
