Stopped by Beirut today for lunch. Well Bayroot.
It's a new Lebanese Deli / restaurant on Shrewsbury Avenue kind of kitty-corner across from the TD Bank.
They have Shawarma! And it's good. I got the sandwich which was $ 7, fries were another $ 3, did not come with.
Sandwich came in a wrap style, I'm more used to the pita version. Portion was ok, but could have been a little bigger for me. It came with a little salad and pickles. If I have a complaint it's about the tahini sauce which was a little strongly flavored for me, it needed something like maybe a squirt of lemon juice to cut it. But it was a very good sandwich.
There were some problems with service. It took 20 minutes to get the sandwich and it was gone by the time the fries made it. The fries were a surprise, generous portion and very good.
I would definitely go back, and want to give the falafel a shot.
So it wasn't really fast food but it was good food and it was pretty busy. Decor was bright, but lots of wood and hard surfaces so kind of noisy The gal said it they have been open for about a month, and it looks like they have dinner service too.
