Bay Area Trip - Need Help with Finishing Touches

Hey Everyone! I really enjoy reading this website because you guys give such great suggestions. :) We are planning a girl's trip for October and need help with some finishing touches. So far, I've reviewed previous Chowhound posts to choose wineries for us to visit in Napa. We are flying into Oakland from Texas. We will have a rental car for the first 2 days (so that we can drive to Napa), but will return the rental car on Monday evening since many people have posted there's no need for a car in San Francisco.

We'd love some feedback on our itinerary, and any restaurant suggestions you may have. We can probably splurge on one meal (approx. $150), but the other meals need to be no more than $50/person. Thanks for your feedback!

Girl's Trip Itinerary:

Saturday: Arrive in Oakland Airport at 6:40pm (We plan to drive to Napa Valley that evening. Any restaurant suggestions on the way from Oakland to Napa Valley? Should we just do a late dinner at Ad Hoc?)

Sunday - Wine Tasting in Napa Valley (10am @ Schramsberg/ 12pm @ Vincent Arroyo/ 2:15pm @ Pride Mountain Vineyards (will picnic here before tasting with food from the Sunshine Foods Market). I was thinking we could squeeze in one more afternoon tasting, but don't know what winery to choose. Any suggestions? Grgich Hills Estate? Castello di Amorosa? V. Sattui? Some place else? Which one should we choose!?! Or should we just stick with 3 wineries? Please Help!

Note: We are returning to San Francisco on Sunday evening (leaving Napa Valley around 6pm). So, the only meal we can for sure eat in Napa is breakfast on Sunday. Any early morning breakfast suggestions (i.e. eating around 8/8:30am)?

Monday - Only thing we have planned is to tour Alcatraz at 4pm. Any suggestions for dinner after touring Alcatraz? Also, we were thinking of driving to Muir Woods and then Sausalito on Monday morning and having lunch in Sausalito before heading to San Francisco for the Alcatraz ferry. Is that too much in one day?

Tuesday - We're doing an all day walking tour of San Francisco. It ends at 4:30pm near either the Ferry Building or Yerba Buena. We could possibly grab another casual dinner in San Francisco. Any suggestions?

Wednesday - We head back to Oakland for our afternoon return flight. Any good brunch recommendations in Oakland on a weekday?

Ad Hoc,
Sunshine Foods
