Bay Area catering suggestions for outdoor event

nestorius | May 24, 200411:15 PM     2

Every year my company has an annual picnic. Last year I convinced the organizers that burgers and weenies were not the way to go. We hired Ephesus -- the Turkish restaurant in Walnut Creek -- and they did an outstanding job with grilled kabobs and salads. The bar was raised. Expectations are high. While we wouldn't mind hiring Ephesus again, we thought that some other "theme" might be available.

So far -- after many Internet searches -- we have a couple of candidates with Texas/Kansas City BBQ, one possible Korean place in San Jose and a couple of Mexican places who say they'll grill anything we want. Most of the online catering sites focus on weddings and other formal venues instead of outdoor events. I would appreciate any suggestions you have. The event is at the Roberts recreational center in the Redwoods State Park in the Oakland hills.
