Battambang Restaurant

Hello Everyone. I am new to posting reviews (after asking a lot of questions of this group). So please be patient with me. Constructive criticism is appreciated. I have just been transferred from Pleasanton to Downtown Oakland (1333 Broadway). I had lived in Oakland for a few years before, but have forgotten a lot about downtown eateries. I am going to try to post every restaurant I try, and see what everyone has to say. Suggestions for future lunches are appreciated. Cheap and easy is the prerequisite.

Here goes:

Battambang Restaurant
650 Broadway
Oakland, CA
Meal: Lunch
Ordered: Kari Moarn Luncheon Special
Price: $6.25
Service: 65 / 100
Taste: 75 / 100
Comment: Food was all pretty good. Nothing I would write home about, but tasty (Full Disclosure: I am very partial to Cambodian food). Service left much to be desired, but compared to most Chinatown Asian restaurants, it was average. They would not allow anyone to choose their own seating even if it was at a table the same size as their party (This may be explained by the fact that it is a small restaurant, and they may need to move tables around to facilitate groups). The food came quickly, as so most downtown lunch restaurants. The Portion size was quite large, and I was very full upon leaving. I couldn’t imagine anyone leaving hungry. Overall, if I was looking for Cambodian Cuisine, I would choose Phnom Penh (from memory, a lunchtime review will come), but if you want Cambodian food, and are downtown on foot then Battambang will fit the bill.
