I recently got back from Bakersfield (among other places) where I had a great dinner at the Noriega Hotel. (See the California board for a detailed account) Almost everybody were seated in two large communal tables and of course everybody got the same meal. $17 per person included the house red wine, lots of little dishes, two entrees, cheese, lard fried french fries and dessert. What a fun evening. If I'm not mistaken, the last two remaining Basque restaurants in SF have closed and now the closest one is the Basque Cultural Center in SSF. Anybody been there recently? What's the verdict?
