There was an article in LA Times about Carl Chu's New book and a Chengdu Style Sichuanese Restaurant in San Gabriel Valley called "Bashu 12 dishes". I went there last weekend and think that it's very good - but since I don't write all that well, I attached the link the the article and you can see what dishes they serve
Bashu 12 Dishes
529 E Valley Road
Unfortunately, this place has no sign in English nor English menu, and I have no idea how good their english is, so bring a Chinese speaking friend if you can.
There are some other interesting restaurant in the same mall.
1. Vegetarin Wok: Chinese (Buddhist) vegetarian. It's quite full but I couldn't get a hold of a menu. Has anyone been there?
2. Grand Cafe 108. The chinese name is "Red Ant". It's actually one of my favourite Hong Kong style (chain) diner back in Hong Kong. (Similar to "Savoy Kitchen" in Alhambra), serving CHinese style western food. Has anyone tried that one too?
