Barrel & Ashes (Review & Photos)

Just returned from a wonderful meal here, all this food was split with my friend and I. We decided to start with the Ho-Cake first, the presentation was amazing as it came out sizzling at our table. First bite was heaven, from the distinct butter & maple syrup and the wonderful texture of both a pancake meets cornbread. Next up we shared the Frito Pie which is simple a bag of Fritos opened up and topped with nacho toppings taking your basic chips up ten notches. For my entree I had the brisket which had magnificent color and BBQ ring around the edges, I was happy to find a couple burnt end pieces included, the smokiness in the flavor was exquisite and some of the best brisket I've ever tasted. My friend chose the cheddar cheese brisket sandwich and we split the Mac & cheese, I loved the big shell pasta they used which soaked up all that delicious cheese. As full as we were we had to split the turtle ice cream cake and we had no regrets, you drizzle on the caramel yourself and the candied pecans stood out the most! I can't wait to return, check out my photos and give it a try for yourself
