Just got back from my monthly visit to The Bargain Bank (Minnesota nr. Mariposa, SF). The wine selection was pretty large, probably 15-20 choices each of both reds and whites. However, they seem to be pricing the wines a little more aggressively than in the past. A number of the wines, especially some of the whites, are from vintages in the mid-1990's and are probably a bit past there prime. The most attractive wine to me was a 1999 Il Poggione "Rosso Di Montalcino" @$9.99. That is a wine of a good vintage from a very reliable producer that would normally sell in the $16-$20 range. There was also in stock a Ravenswood meritage-style wine selling for $19.99.
