Barcelona Visit

Well, we didn't do as well on food in Barcelona as we usually do (being August was a large part of the problem) & I came down with a 36 hour flu that definitely cut down on the eating...

Dinner at the highly recommended Botufumiero was a bit of a let-down. Beautiful restaurant & walls of photos - past 3 US Presidents, Soccer Stars, Movie & Singing stars, etc. Service was ok, not great. Food was forgettable - their signature wood roasted sea bass was just dull & the rest nothing to write home (or to you!) about.

Lunch in Barceloneta - can Luisa looked good, but wasn't. Very disappointing suqet & we witnessed a puse-snatching - she got it back.

Best meal was at an Italian restaurant in Port Olympic! I was still shaky from the flu & pasta sounded better than tapas... Al Passatore - casual Italian, dined outside. The caprese was just ok as tomatoes weren't ripe enough, but my husbands spaghetti vongole was very good & my Linguine al Cartoccio one of the best seafood pastas I've ever eaten. Served in a foil swan (that part scared me!) & chock full of prawns, shrimp, mussels, clams, calamari, etc. in an incredibly yummy tomato based sauce. I'm still dreaming about that pasta & will definitely return next time I'm in Barcelona & burnt out on tapas...

Hit an incredible Moroccan/Gaudi Fantasy club - Elephant - on the outskirts of town our last night there - very fun & house & grounds unbelievable! Love to hear from locals if it's as hot as we thought it was or if we're just easy impressed!

I still love Barcelona!
