Restaurants & Bars 6

barbecue in Crystal City

I recently went to Washington D.C. from Massachusetts to visit relatives and stayed in Crystal City (Arlington, VA). I ate at a restaurant in the Crystal City mall at the Crystal City Metro station. It was the King Street Blues. They had pretty good barbecued chicken. I did not have the ribs but the chicken was good and it came with homemade (not frozen) french fries. The cole slaw was also homemade (I think). The chicken and french fries were pretty good for a "mall" restaurant. I liked the cole slaw except that I'm not used to it with as much mayonnaise as they had put in it. They had the usual "tourist" things that you could buy such as bottled barbecue sauce and tee-shirts if you like that kind of thing. I did buy a couple of bottles of the sauce and liked it. I don't have an outside "real" barbecue and had to use it in my oven didn't get the "smoked" flavor. On the other hand, I was pleased that they didn't put the artificial bottled hickory smoke flavoring in it so it was really good on that basis. They supposedly have another restaurant in Alexandria and Kingtowne, VA. I would recommend it. Has anyone else eaten there?
