Baracoa in Atwater Village - suspect?!?

Kai | Oct 24, 2003 12:56 PM

Am I being silly here?...please let me know. I went to Baracoa Cuban Cafe in Atwater Village to inquire if they could cater the office party I am planning. I was told that they can't fully cater it but they could supply the food if I picked it up. No problem. She gave me a menu and recommended the arroz con pollo lunch which comes with a salad and plantains (I think it comes with plantains). Anyway, the menu price for the arroz con pollo lunch was $4.95 and dinner is something like $6.95. I told the young lady helping me that it would be for about 12 people and asked for a price. She called someone on the phone and came back to me not with a total price but she told me it would be $8.95 per person. How does that work? Wouldn't I be better off calling the day of and ordering 12 arroz con pollo lunches at $4.95 each?

I've heard and read that the arroz con pollo is good here but...
