Bar Seating at Zahav & Other Old City Recommendations

pbplus | May 23, 201706:59 AM     3

We are headed into the city for a show at the Arden Theatre on a Saturday evening in June. We just made the decision to add dinner to our plans, and we're too late to get a reservation at Zahav, which has been on my wish list for a while. We are considering getting there early enough to get a seat at the bar, and I'd love to hear feedback on whether that would be a good experience. I would hate to take away from our first trip there because we can't have a relaxed conversation over dinner.

Alternately, I would love to hear recommendations for a delicious dinner in Old City that wouldn't require reservations too far ahead. I've searched this board quite a bit. Maybe I'm not using the right search terms, but everything I'm finding is quite old. Casual or upscale dining is fine as long as the food is solid. Amada has historically been a comfortable fit for us, but we want to try something new.

Thanks in advance for your help!
