Bar-B-Que find

Larry Crawford | Apr 12, 200302:15 PM

Not being an expert on Bar-B-Que, I would not recommend a trip from New Orleans, but if anyone is around McMannville, Tennesee I would recomend a stop. McMannville is on Tenn highway 55 South east of Nashville. Anyway I happen to stop at a roadside Bar-B-Que place called "PIG HOUSE". It was a small wooden building with a few tables and a counter. Very clean. In the back from the parking lot you can see a large stone pit and another large smoker and piles of wood all around. So you know it is the real thing. Anyway, I had the pulled pork sandwitch and a chiken breast with some beans and cole slaw. It was the best I have ever tasted. Again, not much of an expert, but I have tried Bar-B-Q in several states. I continued on to Knoxville and 2 days later returned the same route. I stopped again and had ther ribs and pork dinner. Again the best ever. I wound up buying a whole chicken, several pounds of pulled pork and several racks of ribs to take home. Stopped at a store and purchased a small ice chest and ice. Tried it at home and again, the best. In other words, if any one is up that way, and likes Bar-B-Q, make it a point to stop there. Nothing like it I could find around New Orleans. Thanks for listening.
