Below the Bar? Above the Bar? Indian Fusion????

I was leafing through Sunset Magazine while waiting for the check-out line at the supermarket and noticed an article about Indian fusion restaurants....apparently this is the latest trend and I've missed out on it. Darn. They were specifically talking about a fusion of Indian and French cuisines. Well, I can't think of two cuisines that are more polar, IMO, so of course I'm intrigued. There was mention of a restaurant in San Francisco...of course I can't remember the name. Something about a bar...Above the Bar? Below the Bar?...something like that. I think it was in the Ghiradelli Square area, which might not be too encouraging. Anyone ever heard of such a restaurant/cuisine? Comments?
