Bar Americain Review

Had a great dinner at Bar Americain, although a bit overpriced.

Place is really nicely decorated, great looking bar and open kitchen.

I ordered two apps, the Crayfish/Dungeness Crab Cake, which was delicious, albeit tiny. I also had the Chicory Salad with bacon, egg, and it was amazing! Wow..

Husband had the shrimp and grits app, which was delicious. and the Plate Special, the BBQ ribeye.. He loved it so much I thought he'd eat the bone. He also had the cauliflower gratinee side, which was great..He also polished off two bread baskets with corn cakes and biscuits..

Dessert I ordered the chocolate cream pie and Husband had the carrot-pineapple cake.. After tasting his, he agreed I could switch.. Wow, that had to be the greatest carrot cake I ever had..

Overall, a great meal, very good service, nice place, but a touch expensive (the ribeye special was $42 and was not priced on the menu)...I'd return.
