Banh Mi stall in Chinatown

Piglet the Pug | Sep 1, 2003 05:15 PM

Went to Chinatown lunchtime today to try the banh mi at Mix bakery. We ordered the pork and the beef, extra spicy. We ate the beef right away, and it was excellent. The sweetness of the beef, combined very well with the chewiness of the bread, and the aroma of cilantro, onion, and chilies. We have yet to eat the pork, probably for tonite.

We also found another banh mi place and decided to buy more as comparison. This place was a little stall on the first floor of the same bulding as the Chinatown eatery (the second floor with a lot of little restaurants). Again, we ordered pork and beef. I was just eating the beef, and it is also excellent. It could use a tad more cilantro and chilies.

I also noticed that the Thai Binh market was closed. Does anybody know if they have closed for good?
