banh mi review

who:::
new fave for banh mi -- Bale @ san gabriel and valley intersection, next door to popeye's.

what:::
typically order the standard sandwich @ 1.75. It has a ton of vegetables and meat and a great toasted baguette. This is a substantial meal. You don't need to order two sandwiches. There's also a bunch of variations for $2.25 or so that include fried eggs if you want them.

compare/contrast::: (don't like these places as much)
bale @ atlantic and valley (rustic)
mr. baguette (very little vegetables, probably has the best cured meats and a great baguette, but also expensive)
saigon sandwiches @ san gabriel and valley (nice folks, not so good sandwich)
v sandwiches @ atlantic and cadiz (very tasty, not open on sundays, less meat and vegetables)
banh mi che cali (not memorable)
