OK-now that I'm back in NY, I think I'll start some controversy. While on vacation (see threads below) in your glorious city, I ate at Saigon Sandwich, Baguette Express and Wrap Delight, all on Larkin Street and had 3 banh mi-all roast pork or some combination of pork, pate, etc. All very good with Saigon being best and Wrap a close second. But Saigon Banh Mi, recently moved to Mott Street from East Broadway in NY Chinatown blows them all away.Don't hate me. But...the baked char siu bao in SF Chinatown (especially You's Dim Sum on Stockton Street) has made me consider (together with the farmer's market at the Ferry Building) moving to California. And I've eaten them at every Chinese bakery in Manhattan.
