I am traveling to BKK in February and March. Though we have done some research on casual dining amd street food, I am intrigued by the presence of some highly-rated fine dining spots. The names I have seen bandied about are:
Gaggan - molecular indian
Ngam - refined thai
Sra Bua - molecular thai
I am interested in hearing 'hounds views on the differences between Ngam, Sra Bua and Bo.Lan, and which is the best choice of the three. And of course, if there are any "must try" fine dining spots not on the short list above.
Beyond that, I am open to recommendations for more casual but upscale/nontraditional spots that are "must trys".
I am not as focused on getting fully "authentic" food as we will have that covered in the more casual restaurants we plan to visit. But I am interested in hearing which spots might be worth a visit in their own right just due to excellent cooking (as well as hearing which spots might be overrated or a "pass" if we are already hitting more authentic spots).
We will also be spending some time in Chiang Mai, so if there are any recommendations there (from casual to fine dining) we would appreciate that as well!
