I'm off to Bangkok next month and I want to try to maximize my eating experience. I've been to Bangkok a few time, though not in years so I'm specifically looking for certain things, hopefully someone can point me in the right direction. My plans are still in flux but I will be moving around on the metro system so anywhere in the central core of the city is fine.

- A really good Thai restaurant, doesn't have to be "imperial cuisine" or the poshest place in town just somewhere with great Thai food and an English menu.

- night market/street food area. In previous trips I've been to these fantastic places where there is all kinds of food prepared at stalls and beer served

Any information or other recommendations are much appreciated
