We live in N. California and we are headed to Banff in June!
Does anyone know about hiking trails or cool hidden lodges to eat great food? We would LOVE to do 2 day, 2 night backpacking trip or 1 night stay at Banff Springs and 1 night camping. Other options we've thought of are doing http://www.alpinehelicopter.com/mt-as... heli ride, sleeping at http://www.shadowlakelodge.com/ backcountry lodge or hiking around Lake Louise.
We don't land until 5 on Friday we could hike all day Sat and Sunday. I've read about doing the Skyline trail which sounded ideal but notes say it might be snow covered until July? Does anyone have tips? It also might be too long.
Does anyone have a rec about what would be the best trail w/ the most gorgeous scenery to do (2 days and 1-2 nights) in June? We're ok doing 5-10 miles a day. I would love to see a lake any of them like Bowlake, Morraine lake in Jasper National Park (so blue incredible) Peyto Lake and maybe even Banff hotsprings or a natural outdoor hotspring not as touristy. We'd also be OK doing a few day hikes but backpacking would be ideal. We've looked at staying 1 night at Banff springs or even a lodge. Also read about eating at Cilantro and Canmore.
Thanks SO much in advance for your help!
