Bananas Grill (Brazilian food) in Framingham

I just went for a buffet lunch at Bananas Grill in Framingham. It was pleasant but unimpressive. The interior is styled after the typical local pizza place and is brightly painted.

They have an all you can eat buffet at $8.95/person or you can opt for take-out at $4.95/pound. I thought the per pound payment option was a unique touch. Plus, food off the grill is included as part of the buffet price.

The buffet consisted of mainly chicken, beef, and pork dishes. There were also a few types of rice plain and mixed with fish or vegetables. There were also several dishes which was a stew sort of item- vegetables, maybe a meat of some sort, and flour (as a thickening agent?), a roast pork and beef carving style station, a cheese fritata, tuna bake (like a tuna/cornbread mix), a baked cheese dish, and fried bananas. The grill food was chicken or beef- I thought the beef was very tasty and the chicken while also tasty was a bit dried. Dessert was rice pudding, fruit cocktail, and a parfait type dessert cup (ala KFC parfait desserts). Also, some of the steam trays could have been hotter.

The service was self-serve. Drinks- soda and Brazillian juice drinks (mango and pear flavors leap to mind) are available in a nearby convenience store style refridgerator.

Overall, I say it's a "just o.k. place."
