Banana Milkshake!

Targ Sarvarge | Mar 28, 2003 03:57 AM

So every place has chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla milkshakes, and that's cool, but banana is the best, always. It can be too hard to find, though, and so I am wondering if anyone here knows anyplace, particularly in the East Bay, to get a good banana milkshake.

Oh, and in my opinion, there are two types of banana milkshake, both equally valid. The first is made with real bananas (easy enough to blend up bananas in a milkshake maker, after all), tends to have a grayish appearance, and tastes like, well, bananas. The second is made with "banana" flavoring, is typically yellowish, and tastes like banana candy (think Runts).

In terms of the second, I have found the Smokehouse on Telegraph unbeatable. In terms of the first, I used to head over to Hot'n'Chunky near the Castro Safeway for the shake alone, but that place closed, alas (it's estranged sister, Hot'n'Hunky, isn't quite the same). New Yorker Buffalo Wings makes a good one, too, but it leans too far towards froth sometimes.

Okay, thanks, give me advice.
