In response to my earlier query about Bambara (linked below) I thought I'd write up my experience there.
As I suspected the food was typical "New American Bistro" food. That beings said, it was all very well prepared and tasty.
Sauteed Trout, Brown-sugar cured Beef Tenderloin, "The Chicken", and a brined Pork Chop
Strawberry shortcake, the "Ice Cream Sandwich" and the "S'mores"
What was not typical was the service and the value for the money. Our waiter was great -- friendly, attentive, and he took care of us very well. Not sure if this is typical, but with the "waiter's compliments" we were presented with both an amuse bouche of Cream of Parsnip Soup in an espresso cup at the beginning of the meal, and glass of sparkling dessert wine at the end (it probably didn't hurt that I was dining with three lovely ladies). The value was also excellent. For four people drinking wine, entrees, and desserts, the final bill came out to not much more that $100 before tip.
