Just stopped in to this brand new place a 2 Charles St. It is in the rennovated B&O Building that has been turned into a Kimpton Hotel Monaco. Beautiful understated and elegant space, nice modern menu that hits all the recent trends - sustainable seafood, local farmers market produce, small plates, charcuterie, flat breads, and lots of comfort food. Happy hour draft beers are $3, wines and cocktails $5.
Looking forward to what CIA-trained Chef Michael Reidt (pronounced Reed) will do with this new space and new opportunity. I am especially hoping he'll be able to stretch the brasserie theme outward a bit to bring some Brazilian and Spanish influences with him. as he did in Santa Barbara at Sevilla.
It's in soft opening right now, and opens to the public tomorrow. Lunch service is supposed to start mid-August. I plan to start with the fried oysters, and I'll report back.
