I'm new to Baltimore near Mt. Vernon, and a food enthusiast. I prefer the hole-in-the-wall cuisine, nothing fancy, don't wanna pay $25.00 for a mediocre meal and "ambiance."
What are your Top 5 recommendations? Anything will do: soul food (yummy fried chicken and hot links), Indian, REAL sushi, Mexican food (carnitas and $2.00 tacos like back home in LA), Thai (my favorite), Vietnamese, Chinese (dim sum), that kind of stuff. I've been to Philip's at the Inner Harbor (ehh...nothing too special there), and a few restaurants in the Hamden area (sp?). People said I should check out Lexington Market also. Any help is appreciated. And I plan on scanning the rest of the posts for other recommendations.
