Need Baltimore style kidney stew recipe

AlLipscomb | Oct 22, 200907:03 AM     15

Kidney stew and waffles were a staple for breakfast during the late 40's and early 50's, at least in my neighborhood. My mother use to make it ever so often, along with brains and eggs. I have been looking for a recipe on how to make it, but have been unsucessful in finding one, specially for pork kindey stew. I am a Baltimore native (born and raised there), now living in Goldsboro, NC. I am 72 years of age, and have not had any kidney stew and waffles since my mother passed in March 1987. The stew was like a thick gravy (kidneys and the potatoes were cut into cubes), but I don't have clue on how she made it. Does anyone know how it was done during that era?
