Baltimore Recommendation--Italian

chopin | Apr 10, 2001 12:01 AM

Because I am new and people have to have common experiences so they can adjust my opinions accordingly, I would like to offer my first suggestion for this board which I believe follows the philosophy of a Chowhound:
One of my favorite Italian restaurants for simple pastas in Baltimore is actually in Cockeysville, MD: Fazzini's Italian Kitchen
578 Cranbrook Rd.
(410) 667-6104
This is a restaurant that I believe puts 95% of the Italian Restaurants in Little Italy to shame. This is a small basic no frills restaurant that serves fresh homemade pasta at an extremely reasonable price (they could easily justify higher prices) and is superior to the majority of Little Italy establishments. I personally recommend any of the pastas w/ the killer tomato cream sauce (I always opt to pay alittle more for extra sauce). I tend not to be that adventurous here because the fettucine w/ tomato cream sauce is soo good but I have tried some of the veal dishes on occassions. Some have been hits and others misses.
I hope other chowhounds get a chance to try this place and provide both positive and negative reviews where appropriate. One can be a pain since they don't accept reservations and there aren't that many tables so the best time to eat during the weekends is off hours. Try to plan accordingly.
