Balcones del Peru

JonW | Jan 1, 200606:41 PM

Wife and I had a quick but delicious dinner at Balcones del Peru on Vine St. The owner talked enthusiastically about his commitment to serve "true" Peruvian cuisine and ambitious plans for the future, but there was only one other couple in the place (c. 6:30 on a Thursday night). We found the food tasty -- a Shrimp Cerviche and Saltado de Pollo. The Saltado was lighter (less oily) than Mario's down the street. The Cerviche sauce was pleasantly spicy, although the shrimp were a bit limp and not as flavorful as it should have been. I hope this restaraunt finds its clientele. We plan to return.
