Baking fruit pies with Splenda?

I would like to make a fresh cherry pie tomorrow, but I'd like to use Splenda if possible. Has anyone done this? Would I just substitute an equal amount of Splenda for the sugar in any pie recipe?

I have a friend who makes great apple pie and strawberry pie with Splenda, but since cherries are more tart, I'm not sure how it will work out.
