Hi all, March was a busy month, wasn't it? I really should have put up a second thread mid-month, hope the length wasn't too annoying.
In any case, I was away last weekend, so did not bake. Last night we had VERY spicy keema (ground lamb) with chickpea curry leftovers in the fridge and were in the mood for samosas, so I made the dough (no recipe, about 2c flour, a bit too much olive oil, a biggish glug, and 1/2 tsp salt, with the oil stirred in first and then water added to make it an earlobe-texture), rolled it out in appx 6" circles, cut in half, rolled into cones, and filled with the keema, then deepfried them until golden brown. I suppose this comes close to baking since flour was involved...I used a piece of leftover dough to make 3 crisps, cutting it into strips about 5 x 2", slitting them in the middle, and pulling one end of each through the slit. The too much olive oil (more like 1/4 c than the 2 tb I usually use) seems to have made the samosas unusually crunchy and crisp.
Will need to make bread this weekend and am thinking about this chocolate cake, which sounds spectacular: http://www.tastingtable.com/entry_det...
How about you? What fabulousness are you launching?
