So I am an avid home cook with a decent collection of cookbooks. Because I don't eat meat, I find it easy to pick out good cookbooks -- my choices have been pretty narrowed down to begin with. But I recently realized that I don't have any good baking books and am constantly resorting to internet searches for good dessert recipes. I feel a little intimidated at the prospect of getting one since I have no idea where to begin, and since I have no context like vegetarianism to narrow down the choices. I'm not a beginner baker -- not a pastry chef, by any means, but I can handle fairly complex tasks. That being said, I do want something that has some basic recipes for cookies and the like. Anyone have any suggestions of where to begin?
