I'm giving a friend of mine a bundt pan as a gift and the Williams Sonoma sales associate recommended a cake release spray (that they sell) to ensure the edges always come out crisp. I was concerned the product might build up on the pan so I didn't buy it. I normally butter and flour my bundt pans but I thought I'd check with the experts here. Is this type of product useful? Is it safe for pans (this one claims to be). I also did a bit of research and I see Oetker sells a similar product and Wilton has a liquid product that's basted on.
