More than 2,500 bakers across the country and internationally have registered for the Bakers Against Racism bake sale to be held June 15 to 20.
In the East Bay, sign-ups to buy their baked goods will start on Monday with details to be posted here,
"We are a group of local professional bakers who are mobilizing to create assorted pastry boxes to raise money for @blackorganizingproject & @antipoliceterrorproject.
We are joining an international virtual bakesale organized by @bakersagainstracism (@smallorchids @badwolf_88 & @robrubba) to stand against racism & the unjust treatment of Black folks in the US.
Baked goods won’t solve centuries of systemic racism, but they will raise money for these essential causes & hopefully offer a little comfort.
PRE-SALE starts on JUNE 15th, orders can be picked up on SATURDAY JUNE 20th @tacososcar!
Stay tuned for more details. #BLACKLIVESMATTER"
