bakeries/pastry shops in Rome?

jen kalb | Dec 3, 2004 08:58 AM

I am looking to find some great bakeries on my upcoming visit to Rome. I have bought great bread from Volpetti (not made there, but in Genzano, etc), and we liked a bakery in Testaccio for stuff like pane pepato, but I know there must be good sources within Rome.

I know of the forno in the Campo de Fiori, the bakeries in the Ghetto what others are there?

ps - somebody posted about a Slow Food Guide on this topic for Italy, but it seems to be out of print, or at least not offered on their website - any suggestions from that source would be great.
