I've been recently diagnosed with a barley allergy and was horrified to learn that means I am going to have to abstain from most breads and baked goods outside the home, since many flour blends include malted barley flour or use malt. My beloved Acme is the first casualty :(
Some flours are barley-free, so there is hope, and I can certainly scratch the itch at home. However, I'm hoping there might be some producers in the area that use blends that don't include barley. I know this is a somewhat odd request, but does anyone happen to know of any bakeries that are barley free or somewhat barley free?
