Hash browns can be made with a waffle iron - but thought to try this.
I had some well-baked potatoes - skin nicely well-baked. Chopped them with the skins into a fairly fine chop - added some olive oil, salt, fresh black pepper.
Put iron on high - and also held down for awhile too - result was deliciously crispy 'potato waffle.' (The inclusion of the skin imporant for me).
btw - I usually bake twice as many that I want for a meal - so no 'extra' step really.
