Don't get me wrong - I have nothing against frying. I make fried yeast doughnuts every Chanukah. But the work, the mess, the smell, the fear of my wild children and a pot of boiling oil - I would like to try and bake them. I bought a mold pan and think my daughter would love icing and decorating them. But my question is can I use my usual recipes for fried doughnuts and just bake them? I like cake doughnuts the family like yeast doughnuts. I am assuming with cake doughnuts any recipe will work? Do baked doughnuts only make cake doughnuts? Or is yeast risen possible?
