Found the chicken Vietnamese sandwiches I like in a new location--at least new to me. This little place is called Al Hue's Bakery and Deli. I stopped there at least a year ago and thought they told me they were just about Asian desserts.
Well I was at another place on Univ that used to have chicken bahn mi. Now they don't. They told me to go to Al Hue's and I got the last baguette at Al Hue's today at 1:45PM. It was very tasty chicken with all the good stuff in the sand. The chicken had a slightly sweet taste and was just grilled. It cost $2.49. I told the lady working today that the reason I prefer chicken is because some of the pork is so fatty. She assured me that if I ask them to give me a pork sandwich with no fat that would be no problem. They have homemade pork meatloaf, as well as the pates and fattier hams.
This is a tiny place that sits behind a different Thai restaurant on the south side of Univ. There is good parking in the back. The place has about 6-7 tables and 3 of them were people eating pho. Lots of soups on the menu and lots of beautiful desserts.
