Tried Joseph's Steakhouse in Bridgeport last night and was very disappointed. The decor is bland and cold, without the masculine coziness of the typical steak house. The service was very unprofessional--when asked about a salad, all the waiter could say was: "It covers the whole plate." And when I cut into the steak I had ordered medium, it was entirely rare. The waiter's comment? "That's our medium." Apparently their "rare" would still be on the hoof. I had to send it back a second time to finally achieve "medium". While the steaks were tasty, the rest of the food was very ordinary, and just thrown on the plate with no finesse. The "real whipped cream" the menu said would accompany the dessert was classic Reddi Whip. And the prices were astronomical--easily equivalent to Morton's, for a much inferior product. Not surprising that at 7 p.m. we were the only customers, and by the time we left at 9 p.m., only two more parties had shown up. Skip Joseph's.
