Restaurants & Bars

baguette express

Over the weekend, we went to this new restaurant called Baguette Express in San Gabriel on Valley, just before San Gabriel Blvd. We are big fans of Vietnamese sandwiches (bahn mi). Although the sandwiches do not taste as authentic as other restaurants, the bread is incredibly fresh and they have decent french fries. Plus, my husband likes it because it got an A rating. Most sandwiches are less than $3 for a 12 inch sandwich. We got the special and the shredded pork with skin. All the sandwiches come topped with jalapenos and the shredded carrots.

We used to go another hole in the wall bahn mi shop on Valley, between 2nd and 3rd. Their sandwiches are good but the bread is on the chewy side, and they got a C rating. Most of their sandwiches are less than $2.50.

Does anyone have suggestions for good bahn mi?
