Recently my wife and I , on the advice of a friend, went to Johnny Carrinos (not sure if spelled right) in Wichita. The first impression was very good. Nice decor, kind of dark, and nice aromas. However, we asked for the non-smoking section (I can't believe they still allow smoking in any restaurant, how gross) and were seated in a what looked nice but was an extremely noisy area. My wife was seated on a bench and me on a chair at a table next to a table full of screaming kids. Our service was very slow and by the time our entrees finally came we were very hungry. Instead of me getting the eggplant parmesan as I ordered, I got chicken parmesan. By that time, I did not care. The food was OK but only a small step up from a Fazolis-type of fast-food Italian. The people with the screaming children never got their food and a loud and long argument ensued with the manager. Then a lady from another table proceeded to use the bench near my wife to change her baby's diaper. My wife who is a much better person than me kept me from losing my cool. We will never go back to that place again. We did have some nice wine at least and were able to laugh at the experience later on.
