bad food at Breadline

Alex | Aug 26, 2004 09:04 PM

My wife and I ate at Breadline today. Her grilled veggie panini-like thing (in grilled flatbread) was virtually unedible. The bread and contents were charred and the whole thing tasted very bitter and bland. My Cuban sandwich was dry and bland, with the exception of one or two bites of "outside" pork. The description advertised a cumin sauce; I'm not sure I could discern any. I've had pretty good experiences with the turkey sandwich there, though I've found it offputting on occasion to receive nearly 100% dark meat, and I've had two remarkably good italian sausage sandwiches there. I like the fries as well. I'd be inclined to conclude that the menu is inconsistent except that the Cuban has been recommended highly by this board, Sietsema, etc. Anyway, take it for what it's worth.
