Tried this place Saturday for pre-theater based partly on previous positive chowhound postings but we must have hit an off night. Service was consistently lackadaisical-it took a long time to place our order in a half empty room; when the waiter cleared our appetizer dishes he also started clearing the rest of the table and asked if we wanted our check! We should have taken his suggestion, because we then waited for half an hour for main dishes, and they were not worth the wait. Chicken Chettinad seemed as if they had just thrown raw spices in the sauce, it tasted as if it hadn't been simmered together. Tandoori Lamb was worse, it was so salty as to be almost inedible. At the end of the meal when they asked us how things were I mentioned this to the manager and to his credit he checked in the kitchen and told me they had sprinkled spices on at the end and perhaps overdid it. They brought us out comp desserts, but by then it was nearly curtain time; final insult was a double charge for beer on the check. We won't be back.
